20 East End Avenue

Upper East Side Summer

In the summertime, the Upper East Side transforms into the quintessential New York City oasis—with its parks, sidewalk cafes, and museums offering the promise relaxation amidst the heat. Living at the 20 East End Avenue allows residents to partake of the sunny weather and urban greenery, all while surrounded by the best of New York City culture and cuisine.

Carl Schurz Park, just a short jaunt away, offers the rare experience of total calm in the midst of Manhattan, accented by lush plantings and verdant lawns. The park boasts two playgrounds, a basketball court, and a roller hockey rink for athletes of all ages, as well as two dog runs. In the summer, the park hosts the Summer Sounds outdoor music series, where visitors can enjoy live concerts under the trees, and the Sunset Film Festival, which offers hits like Inside Out and the crime caper Ocean’s 11 on the big screen overlooking the East River.

The East River Esplanade offers the perfect destination for residents of 20 East End Avenue who long for a shoreline breeze. If living so close to the river puts you in the mood for a cool dip on a humid day, the Olympic-size pool at Asphalt Green is only a few blocks away, right by Gracie Mansion. Asphalt Green also features a summer camp and sports leagues for children, and triathlon training clinics for lifelong athletes.
